Insurance & Affordability

You might be wondering how much your care will cost you. If so, you are in the right place.

Benefits of private pay.

There are substantial benefits to getting your care through private practice, including:

No diagnosis

A formal diagnosis is not required
in order to receive the care you need.

More privacy

My office and systems are low profile compared to insurance-run networks.

Longer sessions

Insurance companies don’t dictate session length here.

More services

Private practice allows you to utilize all tools available–not just approved onces.

Can you afford private pay?

  • Overall Cost

How much will I pay in total today? Sometimes out-of-network costs are lower than my in-network deductible

  • Insurance coverage

Sometimes your insurance will pay for services at PsyDuluth. Use this helpful tool (Reimbursify) below to find out for yourself.

(Note: Is it hard to understand the results? I commonly help interpret insurance cost estimates in our free 15 minute consults)

  • Good faith estimate

At PsyDuluth, one of your benefits is to be given a Good Faith Estimate at the start of your care with me. This helps to give you an honest understanding of what your total investment will be.

  • Fees

Due to lower overhead costs and administrative fees, I am able to pass savings on to you and bring you significantly lower service fees–which can be lower than your total deductable elsewhere.

Check your insurance coverage.

Click the blue “Use Your Insurance” button on the bottom right of your screen to get started.

Even if your insurance does not cover care with PsyDuluth, it is possible that it may cost you the same or less in the end – request your free 15 minute consult and I’ll help you figure out the numbers.

Finding the right therapist is a crucial first step. This includes ensuring a good personal fit and match between the psychologist’s skill set and your specific situation.

I offer a free 15-minute phone call to briefly discuss what you may be going through, if my skills match your need, and how much your care may cost (and if insurance will help).
